In accordance with Title 25 Del C. Section 7052A (c) (2), the community owner may increase the rent in an amount greater than the 24-month published CPI-U as long as that amount does not exceed the 24-month CPI-U. Therefore, the community is allowed to divide the CPI-U by 2 and add 3.50%. making the maximum allowable rent increase with these calculations, 5.78%.
